Piffle /pifel/ noun

Definition: Piffle is a noun that means nonsense and senseless talk. It might become your new word to say when you’re flabbergasted about the atrocities someone is speaking about, and it is a fun word when you are frustrated. Piffle even sounds funny!

Etymology: The word piffle originally started to make its appearance in 1847. The actual origin of the word is unknown, but the word was originally created as a verb to mean “to talk or act in a trifling and ineffective way” around 1847. It is rumored that the word piffle might have come from the word trifle by the influence of the word piddle. There is also a theory that the word was meant to mock or sound like a puff of air.
