Etymology

According to historians, the Oxford English Dictionary traces the first use of the term "wanderlust" to 1593 in an unpublished work by Thomas Nashe. They believe wanderlust originated in German as wandern. English speakers have used the word wanderlust since at least the late 1500s to describe an innate sense of adventure and wonder.
